CHARLOTTE, ASH and EMMA have 3 tickets to the Resettlement Zone. 

 

Charlotte has convinced the SAMAANS, a refugee family from Syria, to give up the tickets they have to their neighbour, PENNY. In return, Penny has given them a 3rd ticket.

 

Ash isn’t comfortable with this. And they are now faced with another family in danger.

 

As they flee their angry neighbours along the canal, the Dhumals have seen an INTRUDER breaking into CURTIS’S HOUSE. Ash wants to help. Charlie wants to push on. 

 

Heads. They keep moving.

 

But, in a surprising fit of guilt, Charlie remembers the Samaans as in the present, Penny rounds on them back in the cul-de-sac.

 

Ash’s right. They have to help. She returns to the fence and hops it. Ash follows with Emma. 

 

Through an open window they discover CURTIS’S STUDY, papers strewn, computer on, ashes smeared into the carpet.

 

They hear a struggle outside the door. The intruder has his hands around Curtis’s wife ALEX’s neck. 

 

Charlie takes on the intruder. He’s strong - clearly highly trained. He draws a gun -

 

When Alex regains her strength and knocks it from his hand. The intruder throws her into a door. Ash rushes to help but gets a kick to the gut.

 

Tired, Charlie prepares for another round. But Alex has the gun. Charlie orders her to shoot. Alex is terrified. The intruder starts towards Alex - BANG! The intruder’s down, gurgling blood.

 

CURTIS’S KIDS emerge from their hiding place and the two families rush from the house into Alex’s Range Rover. They head straight for the Pick Up Point. Who was that man? Alex isn’t sure but CURTIS was burning documents earlier. She’s worried he’s done something stupid.

 

11:30pm They arrive at the Pick Up Point. Protestors and desperate people are trying to breach the fence. The families have their tickets checked and wait in a queue to get on a bus. Alex thanks them, before her and the kids are led into the VIP area.

 

Suddenly, a large Mercedes screeches to a halt a short distance away. Penny and Diana jump out, bloodied, and push their way to the front of the queue. 

 

Just as Vi drives up with Maara and Ali. 

 

Flashback to Diana killing Nazim in the cul-de-sac. Then fleeing with Penny.

 

Curtis, buoyed by the arrival of his family, hears the commotion at the front of the queue and immediately intervenes. He has Penny and Diana escorted away, and gives their tickets back to the Samaans.

 

The Dhumals get to the front of the queue. Charlie and Emma are led onto a bus. But Ash is  led to a different one. His ticket is for another Resettlement Zone. 

 

Ash breaks away from the soldiers he’s with, runs to the window of Charlie’s bus and shouts: “Plan B!” Her bus pulls away, and Ash runs after it.

 

Just as Penny’s enormous car ploughs through the fence - into Curtis. The crowd of desperate people pours through, and the Pick Up Point descends into chaos. 

 

On the bus, Charlie takes out her COIN.

 

Near the wreckage of the Pick Up Point, Ash takes out his COIN.
